Hello [subscriber:firstname | default:reader]
This month we've added an entry on Printer Cartridges to the site. Special thanks to Pittsburgh resident Jon K. who donated the headline print cartridge image for our post. In addition to this new item, we've been tracking several updates and a few limited recycling collections for specific items- take a look below.

LOCAL RECYCLING NEWS

UPDATES:
  • Michael Brothers Hauling has made it known that they are collecting ALL #1 and #2 plastics (including clamshells, cups, etc) at their location at 901 Horning Rd. 15236. They also accept (and even pay for) scrap metal. Their drop-off is a drive through. If you've been saving up your plastics not accepted in Pittsburgh curbside, consider taking a trip out there to drop off. Our Plastic Clamshell Containers, Plastic Container Lids, and Plastic Drinking Cups entries have been updated accordingly. Special thanks to Mike Stout of the Allegheny Chapter of the Izaak Walton League for this tip!
  • The CD Recycling Center of America has closed indefinitely during the pandemic and is no longer accepting mail-in items. Our Discs - CD/DVD/Blue-ray post has been updated accordingly. You can email info@cdrecyclingcenter.org to request to be added to their re-opening announcement list.
  • Bookmark alert! Our friends at Reimagined Recycling now have a website where you can sign up for their email list to be notified about their upcoming plastic collection events!

Printer Cartridges

These plastic ink and toner cartridges are used in home and business printers. You can't recycle ink and toner cartridges in curbside Pittsburgh recycling, but there are a number of options for dropping off or mailing in these cartridges...
